Erupting Valentine Volcano

Today I came across fizzy hearts over at B-Inspired Mama and thought it would be a good way to occupy a cranky preschooler. We love playing with baking soda and vinegar so I knew it would be a hit. It only took a few minutes to set up and the mess wasn't too bad.
Of course we eventually had to add the vinegar to the baking dish and turn it into sensory fun. We both have pink hands! For a half hour I got smiles and giggles. She wants to do it again tomorrow.

  1. Your cranky preschooler is ADORABLE. Love her long hair. You need to write a post on how you get her to let you brush it without screaming. Whenever I brush my daughter's hair, she cries and fusses as if I am cutting off a limb. Sigh. Every experiment and craft activity is better when a heart is involved. Looks like you had fun, embrace those pink hands :)

    1. Ha! I wish she would let me brush it!!! We have been wanting to cut it for the last year. She has been telling us that it has to be long like Rapunzel and if we cut it then it will lose it's magical powers and never grow back...lol. After fighting to get a dread out of the back of her hair for 15 minutes she has finally agreed to get her hair cut like wedding Rapunzel :) I have found that I get less screaming and crying if I just sneak attack her when she is occupied with toys or tv! It doesn't work all the time but sometimes she doesn't notice until I'm almost done brushing it.
