Thanksgiving Themed School Lunches

Gobble gobble! Her sandwich was Sunbutter, granola, and strawberry jelly on a bagel thin. To make it look like a turkey I used Sunbutter to attach a Ritz cracker and candy corn to the bagel. For the eyes I took a mini marshmallow and cut it in half. I then added a dot of black gel food coloring with a toothpick to make them look like eyes. The beak is made from cheddar cheese and the wattle is cut from a piece of pepperoni. I also packed some tomato slices, raw broccoli, Cheez-It's, corn on a piece of lettuce, and some yogurt covered raisins.

Native American shaped turkey and miracle whip sandwich. I used cheese for the hair, a mini marshmallow for the eyes, and fruit leather to make the mouth and headband. I also packed raw carrots and snow peas, black olives, raspberries with white chocolate chip centers, cucumber slices, and candy corn.

Leaf shaped Sunbutter and jelly with sprinkle cutout surprise sandwich, zucchini and bell pepper cut into leaf shapes, leaf cutout Babybel cheese, trail mix, raspberries, and mini chocolate chips.

Pilgrim sandwich, raw asparagus and broccoli, orange segments and raspberries, rice krispy treat, yogurt covered raisins and candy corn.

Jack o'lantern bologna sandwich, bologna bat, cucumber and black olive eyeballs, ghost honeydew, pumpkin orange, halloween shaped pretzels, and Peep mini pumpkin.

Spooky Halloween pasta (veggie pasta, yellow tomatoes, tomato basil feta, and olive oil), rolled ham bat skewers, green apple, raw green beans, cooked brussel sprouts, and a  Peep mini pumpkin.

Fall leaf homemade lunchable, cucumbers, raw carrots and green beans, grape tomatoe and black olive skewer, and gummy snacks.

Fun Halloween School Lunches

Sunbutter and jelly witch & mini house sandwiches, moon shaped provolone cheese, kiwi witch hats, pomegranate seeds, black olives, carrots, and cat shaped rice krispy treat.

Turkey and mayo with a slice of provolone cheese on top cut into a ghost shape, plums, raw green beans, grape tomato ghost skewers, peanut free candy corn.

Homemade lunchable made with pumpkin shaped cheddar cheese, thick cut Boars Head ham, and crackers. I also packed her grape tomato bat skewers, yogurt squeeze, cooked brussel sprouts, and peanut free candy corn.

Fun School Lunches (Fall and Halloween inspired)

Fall lunch! Leaf shaped bologna and ketchup sandwich (my kid loves Boar's Head bologna), apple with a leaf cutout, multicolored sweet peppers cut into fall leaves, wheat thins and a couple of Cheez-Its, and peanut-free chocolate chips.

Pumpkin shaped sandwich that is made with bologna, ketchup, and slice of cheddar cheese on top. I rolled the leftover bologna from the cutout pumpkin and put it on a pick. Cut strawberries, yogurt squeeze, Skittles, and for the "pumpkin" cherry tomatoes I just put a piece of toothpick in the tomato to hold on the green bean. Whenever I use hidden toothpicks I show Charlotte before school so she knows to take them out before taking a bite.

Star shaped Sunbutter and jelly sandwich, Babybel cheese with a star cutout, star shaped strawberries, Cheez-Its, green beans, and Florida Natural gummy nuggets.

Graveyard pasta (veggie pasta, olive oil, black olives, and tombstone cheese), cherry tomatoes, ghost cutout apple, green beans, yogurt squeeze, and Tootsie Rolls.

Sorry I'm so late posting these. My husband and I went to Nashville for 5 days and I'm just getting back in the swing of things.

Princess lunch! Tiara Sunbutter and jelly sandwich, heart fruit, grape wands, cheese stick with heart gems glued to the wrapper, and Florida Natural organic gummy nuggets.

Homemade lunchable using a flower cutter, grape tomato skewers, strawberries, cauliflower, cucumbers with a flower cutout, and marshmallows.

Puzzle Sunbutter and jelly sandwich, Babybel cheese with a heart cutout, zucchini with heart cutout filled with a heart red bell pepper, cauliflower with flower red bell peppers, plum, and Florida Natural organic gummy nuggets with a gummy vitamin in the center.

Homemade lunchable using a circle cutter and heart cutter, heart shaped strawberries and black grapes, cauliflower and cucumbers, yogurt squeeze, and peanut free chocolate chips.

Heart shaped Sunbutter and jelly sandwich that I decorated using a food marker, peaches, cauliflower, yogurt squeeze, and Florida Natural gummy nuggets with a gummy vitamin in the center.

Fun School Lunches

Puppy dog roast beef and cheddar sandwich. I used a food markers to draw on the eye and collar. I didn't want to throw away the scraps from cutting out the sandwich so I used them to make a meat and cheese skewer. The flowers are yellow squash and i sliced up a red sweet pepper. She also had peaches, yogurt squeeze, and Florida Natural organic gummy nuggets.

Elephant bologna and cheddar sandwiches. She also had sunbutter on celery with raisins, watermelon, yogurt squeeze, and nut free chocolate chips.

Roast beef and cheese cube skewers. She also had plums, raw cauliflower, pretzels, half of a Cliff Kid Zbar, and Florida Natural organic gummy nuggets.

Hummus and pita chips. She also had grapes on skewers, sliced red sweet pepper, yogurt squeeze, and nut free chocolate chips.

Sunbutter, jelly, and nut free granola on a bagel thin. I cut the wax on a Babybel cheese to make it look like hair. I used a food marker to make the eyes. She had hummus with yellow squash flowers and sweet peppers to dip. I also packed her some orange sliced, raspberries, and peanut free chocolate chips.

Fun School Lunches

School is in full swing and these are some of the fun lunches that I have packed my little Kindergartener. We went with a PlanetBox Rover for her lunchbox. So far I love it! It makes it really easy to plan and pack her lunches.

I found these cute Minion shaped graham crackers from Honey Maid. To make her sandwich I just cut it and a piece of cheddar cheese into the shape of a Minion head. On a slice of provolone cheese I cut a strip with a knife and a circle with a cookie cutter. I laid the pieces where I wanted them and trimmed the strip to fit. To draw on the face I used a Wilton Food Writer marker in black.

I carved the wax on a Babybel cheese to make a ladybug. To get perfect circles I used a hard straw from a plastic tumblers to cut the wax. I used heart picks that I got from the Dollar Tree to make her "fairy wands". I just put on a couple of grapes and then a piece of flower shaped honeydew melon to make the wands. She also had sunbutter, jelly, and granola on a bagel thin. For her treat I gave her some nut free chocolate chips :)

For the green balls I just used a melon baller on honeydew melon. I bought these super cute and easy to use egg molds on Amazon. You just pop a warm hard boiled egg into the mold, close it, and stick it in the fridge until you need the egg. I found that an extra large egg worked pretty good in the fish mold but some egg did squeeze out the sides. I just cut off the extra and they looked adorable.

I made her a homemade lunchable. I had the deli slice my Boars Head ham thick. When I got home I used a circle cookie cutter on the ham and sliced cheese. For her treat I gave her some mini marshmallows.

Sorry for the horrible photo. This was her lunch from the first day of school. I was in a big rush and didn't realize how blurry this photo was. (I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone and feel that it takes awful photos). Anyway, the white hearts are a hard boiled egg cut in half. I used my new eggs molds that I talked about on the fish lunch. You have to use extra large eggs to fill the heart mold.

Anna from Frozen Babybel Cheese

I used a really sharp knife to cut out her bangs. After I took the rest of the wax wrapper off I sliced it into long strips and braided it to make her pigtails. I also cut out a mouth with the left over wax. I used a small sliver of provolone cheese to make the white strip in her hair. I pressed the cheese and the top of the braids into the wax of her bangs to get them to hold on. I really wanted her to have blue eyes but I didn't have a blue colored food marker so I had to improvise with a tiny piece of broccoli pressed into the cheese. I used broccoli to wedge the cheese into her lunchbox so that it wouldn't move around that much.

I put an Elsa shaped gummy in the center of some marshmallows. Her sandwich is sunbutter, jelly, and granola on a bagel thin.

Rainbow Swirl Pancakes

My girls have been begging me to make pancakes so I thought fun rainbow ones would be fitting :)

I was lazy so I used a box mix. I followed the directions to make 6 to 8 pancakes. For the coloring I used McCormick Neon liquid food coloring. I found that two drops of each color was the perfect amount. Use a butter knife to gently swirl the colors until it looks like the above picture. Now the batter is ready to use!

I love how vibrant the colors turned out. Both girls were very excited to eat these and I ended up wishing that I had made a double batch. They ended up eating most of mine!

Saint Patrick's Day Lunches

Here are two easy to make St. Paddy day lunches for the kiddos :)

These super fast and easy shamrock pizzas are a lot of fun for the kiddos to help make. Use an english muffin sliced in half for the pizza base. You can let the kids spread on the jarred pizza sauce and sprinkle on the shredded cheese. Top them with a slice of green bell pepper and put them in the toaster oven (or oven) on 350 for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
I came across an adorable leprechaun sandwich on Snacks and Stories blog and just had to make a similar one. I would have liked the carrots used for the hair and beard cut finer but didn't feel like digging out my grater. The hat is made from the bottom bump of a green bell pepper. The nose is a tip of a strawberry and the eyes and hat buckle are raisins.

Shamrock Lunch

I used a heart cutter to make the shamrock leaves. To decorate them I used Wilton's Sparkle Gel in Light Green. The stem is a piece of green pepper and the grass is lima beans.

Valentine's Day Fun Food

Grilled cheese with heart strawberries. I just sliced the strawberry in half and cut a v in the top. If your OCD like me then you could also round the tops of the strawberries with a knife.

I found cute little heart picks at the Dollar Tree and thought they looked kinda like arrows. If you want a tutorial on how to make the grape tomato hearts then head over to The Pin Junkie.

How Do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas Lunch

 

Today I read How Do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas to the girls. It was a funny and cute book. We ended up reading it three times! The girls were gasping and saying "bad dinosaurs" when they did naughty things...lol.

I made them a lunch to go along with the book. I used Tyson dinosaur chicken nuggets and gave the T-Rex a santa hat. To make the hat I sliced a strawberry in half and wrapped a piece of white string cheese around for the trim. The sandwich is our usual sunbutter and jelly. Charlotte asks for one everyday! I had Evelyn cut the tree out using a cookie cutter (she wanted to help). The star is made from a slice of cheese and I used Wilton Sparkle Gel to make the red bulbs.

I found a free printable maze and coloring page to go along with the book from the Scholastic website. I printed them for the girls to do while I make dinner.

Snowman Sandwich

Normally I only post the fun lunches that I make my kids once a month, but with it about to be officially winter I figured I'd post this one early.

Charlotte wanted Kraft mac and cheese for lunch. I really don't like feeding it to the kids that often but she begged me. I used a snowman cookie cutter to cut out a sunbutter and jelly sandwich. I was able to cut two out of one sandwich. I used Wilton Sparkle Gel to decorate it. I love that stuff!

November Fun Lunches

Fun lunch for the kiddos to kick off the Christmas season. I used Wilton gel to decorate sunbutter and jelly sandwiches. I found Goldfish that were Christmas shaped at the store.

Fall leaf sunbutter and jelly sandwich with edamame. I used the same Wilton gel to decorate the sandwich. I have a tube from Charlotte's party and it's the only color I have ;) I was surprised to see that it didn't have any peanut warnings. Most of Wilton products are processed in a plant or shared equipment that also processes nuts.
